I like Sen. Patty Murray. I have followed her voting record and it agrees with me most of the time. She is even distantly related to some close friends of mine. In 1998 I was in Washington DC to participate in forming a comprehensive plan to assist artists with disabilities gain success in their chosen careers. Our discussions were held at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. I was determined to lobby for these concerns and others and was pleased to learn that Sen. Murray hosted an informal breakfast meeting in her office on Capitol Hill. Besides Anne, my mother joined us (in red) and our dear friend Lola. We were able to share our concerns on the importance of art in education and she shared our position and pledged to be mindful of our efforts.
